According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 7.4% (sa) in July, 2004. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Kusilvak (24.6%), Northwest Arctic (14.1%), and Bethel (13.7%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Bristol Bay (2.2%), Denali (2.5%), and Yakutat (4.5%).
