According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 7.1% (sa) in January, 2005. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Yakutat (23.1%), Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon (21.5%), and Kusilvak (19.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Anchorage (5.9%), Juneau (6.3%), and Aleutians West (6.3%).
