According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 6.6% (sa) in August, 2006. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Kusilvak (19.7%), Bethel (12.7%), and Nome (12.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Denali (2%), Bristol Bay (2.4%), and Haines (3.4%).
