According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 6.4% (sa) in October, 2006. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Kusilvak (17.4%), Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon (12.4%), and Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan (12.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Lake and Peninsula (4.2%), Juneau (4.3%), and Aleutians West (4.3%).
