According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 6.5% (sa) in September, 2006. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Kusilvak (17.5%), Bethel (11.8%), and Northwest Arctic (11.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Denali (2.7%), Bristol Bay (3.6%), and Yakutat (3.9%).
