According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 8.2% (sa) in December, 2009. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Aleutians East (25.1%), Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon (23.2%), and Kusilvak (18.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): North Slope (5%), Juneau (6%), and Anchorage (6.5%).
