According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Alaska was 8.1% (sa) in June, 2009. Among all Alaska counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Kusilvak (25.1%), Bethel (16.1%), and Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan (14.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Bristol Bay (2.4%), Denali (3.6%), and North Slope (5.1%).
