According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Indiana was 6.9% (sa) in October, 2008. Among all Indiana counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Elkhart (11.5%), LaGrange (11%), and Fayette (10.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hamilton (4%), Dubois (4%), and Daviess (4%).
