According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Minnesota was 7.9% (sa) in March, 2009. Among all Minnesota counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Clearwater (20.9%), Kanabec (17.3%), and Mille Lacs (15.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Rock (5.9%), Clay (6%), and Jackson (6.1%).
