According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Nevada was 9.7% (sa) in January, 2009. Among all Nevada counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Lyon (15.5%), Nye (13.2%), and Storey (11.5%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Lander (6.1%), Esmeralda (6.4%), and Elko (6.5%).
