According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New Jersey was 6% (sa) in July, 2003. Among all New Jersey counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Cumberland (8.5%), Hudson (8%), and Passaic (8%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hunterdon (4.6%), Morris (4.9%), and Somerset (5%).
