According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New Jersey was 5.3% (sa) in February, 2004. Among all New Jersey counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Cape May (11.5%), Cumberland (8%), and Passaic (7.2%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hunterdon (4.1%), Somerset (4.2%), and Morris (4.2%).
