According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New Jersey was 7.3% (sa) in January, 2009. Among all New Jersey counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Cape May (15.4%), Cumberland (11.9%), and Atlantic (10.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Hunterdon (5.7%), Morris (5.9%), and Somerset (6%).
