According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New Mexico was 5.5% (sa) in July, 2002. Among all New Mexico counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Luna (12.3%), Grant (11%), and Mora (10.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Los Alamos (2.8%), Union (3.8%), and Lincoln (4.2%).
