People Living with HIV By Region in 2018

According to the World Health Organization estimates, 37.9 million people were living with HIV globally in 2018. Out of this number, 25.7 million (67.8%) live in the Africa region. Also, 3.8 million (10.0%) live in the South-East Asia region, 3.5 million (9.2%) live in the South and North America region, 2.5 million (6.6%) live in the Europe region, 1.9 million (5.0%) live in the Western Pacific and 400,000 (1.1%) live in the Eastern Mediterranean.
