Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2022, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for North Carolina was 1,317,960 and represented 13.22% of the total North Carolina citizen population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (337.47K), followed by Wake (212.84K), and Guilford (178.23K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (61.65%), followed by Hertford (59.14%), and Edgecombe (57.39%).
