Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of the Virginia population who had Tricare or Military health insurance coverage was 8.06% (i.e. 673,364 people). Percentagewise, among all Virginia counties, York County had the highest percentage of its population with Tricare or Military health insurance coverage (29.01%), followed by Prince George County (25.77%), and Virginia Beach city (22.75%).
In numerical terms, Virginia Beach city had the highest number of people with Tricare or Military health insurance coverage (98,557), followed by Fairfax County (85,536), and Chesapeake city (49,565).
