According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 74,129 people in Colorado who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 1.28% of the total population of Colorado. Denver County had the highest number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone (10,601), followed by Adams County (9,520), and El Paso County (7,519). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone were: Kiowa County (0), San Juan County (6), and Mineral County (6).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Montezuma County had the highest percentage, with 12.93% of its population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by La Plata County (6.01%), and Alamosa County (4.33%).
