According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 26,086 people in Indiana who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 0.38% of the total population of Indiana. Marion County had the highest number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone (5,200), followed by Lake County (3,050), and Allen County (1,671). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone were: Ohio County (4), Warren County (8), and Tipton County (21).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Cass County had the highest percentage, with 1.13% of its population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Jackson County (1.00%), and Miami County (0.86%).
