According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 31,657 people in Louisiana who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 0.68% of the total population of Louisiana. Terrebonne Parish had the highest number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone (6,070), followed by Lafourche Parish (2,554), and Jefferson Parish (2,524). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone were: Tensas Parish (0), East Carroll Parish (3), and Caldwell Parish (19).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Sabine Parish had the highest percentage, with 8.69% of its population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Terrebonne Parish (5.54%), and Lafourche Parish (2.62%).
