According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 41,644 people in Utah who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 1.27% of the total population of Utah. Salt Lake County had the highest number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone (13,189), followed by San Juan County (7,278), and Utah County (4,602). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone were: Daggett County (0), Rich County (3), and Piute County (6).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, San Juan County had the highest percentage, with 50.13% of its population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Uintah County (6.83%), and Duchesne County (4.80%).
