According to the data from the United States 2020 decennial Census for Connecticut counties, in April 2020, among all of Connecticut's cities and places (towns and villages) with a population of at least 10K, Hartford city had the highest percentage of its population that identified their race as Black or African American Alone (38.19%), followed by Bridgeport city (35.07%), and New Haven city (32.20%).
