According to the data from the United States 2020 decennial Census for North Carolina counties, in April 2020, among all North Carolina counties, Bertie County had the highest percentage of its population that identified their race as Black or African American Alone (59.78%), followed by Hertford County (57.50%), and Edgecombe County (56.09%).
