According to the data from the United States 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all West Virginia counties, Gilmer County had the highest percentage of its voting-age population that identified their race as Black or African American Alone (14.87%), followed by McDowell County (12.22%), and Raleigh County (8.07%).
