Michigan American Indian and Alaska Native Alone Voting-age Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the Michigan voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 46,287 people who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 0.59% of the total voting-age population of Michigan.

Wayne County had the highest number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population (5,610), followed by Chippewa County (3,916), and Kent County (2,907).

On the other hand, the three counties with low number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population were: Keweenaw County (1), Oscoda County (30), and Alcona County (46).

In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Mackinac County had the highest percentage, with 14.09% of its voting-age population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Chippewa County (13.09%), and Baraga County (12.03%).
