According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, as at April 2020, among all the West Virginia voting-age population (18 years and over), there were 3,147 people who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, which is 0.22% of the total voting-age population of West Virginia.
Kanawha County had the highest number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population (341), followed by Berkeley County (320), and Cabell County (187).
On the other hand, the three counties with low number of American Indian and Alaska Native Alone voting-age population were: Wirt County (2), Tucker County (3), and Ritchie County (6).
In terms of the percentage of each county's voting-age population, Clay County had the highest percentage, with 0.46% of its voting-age population identifying their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone, followed by Berkeley County (0.34%), and Pleasants County (0.34%).
