Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 81,179 people that identified as Hispanic Black or African American alone in Connecticut and they represented 2.24% of the total population of Connecticut in 2023. Capitol Planning Region had the highest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone population (24,149), followed by South Central Connecticut Planning Region (14,408), and Naugatuck Valley Planning Region (12,409). On the other hand, Northeastern Connecticut Planning Region had the lowest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone (504), followed by Northwest Hills Planning Region (1,220), and Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region (1,634).
