Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 235,423 people that identified as Hispanic Black or African American alone in New Jersey and they represented 2.53% of the total population of New Jersey in 2023. Essex County had the highest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone population (31,953), followed by Hudson County (30,230), and Passaic County (28,038). On the other hand, Hunterdon County had the lowest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone (656), followed by Cape May County (814), and Sussex County (1,103).
