Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 16,132 people that identified as Hispanic Black or African American alone in New Mexico and they represented 0.76% of the total population of New Mexico in 2023. Bernalillo County had the highest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone population (6,448), followed by Doña Ana County (1,866), and Sandoval County (1,057). On the other hand, Harding County had the lowest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone (3), followed by De Baca County (8), and Union County (12).
