United States Hispanic Black or African American alone Population By State in 2023

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 3,444,345 people that identified as Hispanic Black or African American alone in the United States and they represented 1.03% of the total US population in 2023.

New York had the highest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone population (655,843), followed by Florida (352,757), and California (352,229). On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone population (892) followed by Vermont (899), and Wyoming (1,128).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Hispanic Black or African American alone, New York had the highest percentage (3.35%), followed by Rhode Island (2.85%), and New Jersey (2.53%).
