Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, there were 111,465 people that identified as Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone in North Carolina and they represented 1.14% of the total population of North Carolina in 2012. Robeson County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone population (51,920), followed by Cumberland County (4,644), and Hoke County (4,345). On the other hand, Tyrrell County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone (6), followed by Alleghany County (17), and Hyde County (22).
