Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2017, there were 115,038 people that identified as Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone in North Carolina and they represented 1.12% of the total population of North Carolina in 2017. Robeson County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone population (52,509), followed by Cumberland County (4,790), and Hoke County (4,402). On the other hand, Tyrrell County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone (11), followed by Hyde County (20), and Washington County (26).
