Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2010, there were 2,268,551 people that identified as Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone in the United States and they represented 0.73% of the total US population in 2010.

Oklahoma had the highest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone population (310,616), followed by Arizona (258,878), and New Mexico (176,252). On the other hand, District of Columbia had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone population (1,344) followed by Vermont (2,030), and New Hampshire (2,728).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone, Alaska had the highest percentage (14.44%), followed by New Mexico (8.54%), and South Dakota (8.54%).
