Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2016, there were 289,488 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Asian alone in North Carolina and they represented 2.85% of the total population of North Carolina in 2016. Wake County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Asian alone population (72,579), followed by Mecklenburg County (62,987), and Guilford County (25,524). On the other hand, Gates County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Asian alone (31), followed by Clay County (34), and Hyde County (35).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Asian alone, Orange County had the highest percentage (7.9%), followed by Wake County (6.92%), and Mecklenburg County (5.95%).
