Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 468,239 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Arkansas and they represented 15.26% of the total population of Arkansas in 2023. Pulaski County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (151,626), followed by Jefferson County (36,474), and Crittenden County (26,242). On the other hand, Newton County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (36), followed by Searcy County (54), and Montgomery County (57).
