Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, there were 2,227,822 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in California and they represented 5.64% of the total population of California in 2020. Los Angeles County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (804,649), followed by San Bernardino County (180,551), and Alameda County (167,621). On the other hand, Sierra County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (11), followed by Alpine County (12), and Trinity County (88).
