Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 392,447 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Connecticut and they represented 10.85% of the total population of Connecticut in 2023. Capitol Planning Region had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (121,647), followed by South Central Connecticut Planning Region (78,735), and Western Connecticut Planning Region (64,502).
