Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, there were 2,999,446 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Florida and they represented 15.54% of the total population of Florida in 2012. Broward County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (487,822), followed by Miami-Dade County (438,425), and Duval County (256,226). On the other hand, Gilchrist County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (941), followed by Holmes County (1,240), and Lafayette County (1,311).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Gadsden County had the highest percentage (54.93%), followed by Madison County (38.96%), and Jefferson County (35.4%).
