Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2010, there were 1,839,792 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Illinois and they represented 14.33% of the total population of Illinois in 2010. Cook County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (1,268,807), followed by St. Clair County (82,095), and Will County (74,977). On the other hand, Scott County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (5), followed by Calhoun County (6), and Jasper County (12).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Alexander County had the highest percentage (35.55%), followed by Pulaski County (32.15%), and St. Clair County (30.36%).
