Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, there were 1,824,997 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Illinois and they represented 14.19% of the total population of Illinois in 2015. Cook County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (1,235,734), followed by St. Clair County (79,703), and Will County (77,893). On the other hand, Calhoun County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (14), followed by Scott County (17), and Henderson County (20).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Alexander County had the highest percentage (33.39%), followed by Pulaski County (31.14%), and St. Clair County (30.08%).
