Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2019, there were 1,786,575 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Illinois and they represented 14.10% of the total population of Illinois in 2019. Cook County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (1,185,604), followed by Will County (81,118), and St. Clair County (78,764). On the other hand, Hardin County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (16), followed by Calhoun County (19), and Scott County (27).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Alexander County had the highest percentage (31.24%), followed by St. Clair County (30.31%), and Pulaski County (29.78%).
