Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2010, there were 586,378 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.03% of the total population of Indiana in 2010. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (240,594), followed by Lake County (125,562), and Allen County (41,321). On the other hand, Warren County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (11), followed by Martin County (15), and Ohio County (21).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (26.6%), followed by Lake County (25.32%), and St. Joseph County (12.6%).
