Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, there were 603,886 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.19% of the total population of Indiana in 2013. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (252,456), followed by Lake County (120,649), and Allen County (42,575). On the other hand, Warren County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (17), followed by Ohio County (22), and Martin County (27).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (27.14%), followed by Lake County (24.53%), and St. Joseph County (12.62%).
