Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, there were 614,500 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.29% of the total population of Indiana in 2015. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (259,570), followed by Lake County (117,073), and Allen County (42,747). On the other hand, Warren County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (17), followed by Martin County (23), and Ohio County (25).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (27.61%), followed by Lake County (23.98%), and St. Joseph County (12.79%).
