Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2018, there were 639,237 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.54% of the total population of Indiana in 2018. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (272,195), followed by Lake County (113,776), and Allen County (43,446). On the other hand, Warren County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (26), followed by Martin County (30), and Ohio County (31).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (28.37%), followed by Lake County (23.46%), and St. Joseph County (13.26%).
