Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2019, there were 647,894 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.63% of the total population of Indiana in 2019. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (275,244), followed by Lake County (113,664), and Allen County (43,884). On the other hand, Warren County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (30), followed by Martin County (33), and Ohio County (35).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (28.56%), followed by Lake County (23.38%), and St. Joseph County (13.3%).
