Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, there were 659,395 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.71% of the total population of Indiana in 2020. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (279,996), followed by Lake County (116,260), and Allen County (44,502). On the other hand, Martin County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (28), followed by Warren County (36), and Ohio County (40).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (28.67%), followed by Lake County (23.3%), and St. Joseph County (13.2%).
