Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 664,325 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.75% of the total population of Indiana in 2021. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (276,140), followed by Lake County (116,984), and Allen County (44,616). On the other hand, Warren County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (37), followed by Ohio County (44), and Martin County (44).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (28.42%), followed by Lake County (23.43%), and St. Joseph County (13.2%).
