Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2022, there were 675,424 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Indiana and they represented 9.89% of the total population of Indiana in 2022. Marion County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (282,467), followed by Lake County (115,963), and Allen County (44,657). On the other hand, Warren County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (39), followed by Ohio County (54), and Martin County (54).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Marion County had the highest percentage (29.14%), followed by Lake County (23.21%), and St. Joseph County (13.18%).
