Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, there were 90,826 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Iowa and they represented 2.96% of the total population of Iowa in 2011. Polk County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (26,806), followed by Scott County (11,562), and Black Hawk County (11,395). On the other hand, Adams County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (8), followed by Davis County (9), and Audubon County (10).
